It all started with a giggle!
Hi I’m Erin.
I’m the creator of Wonder and Giggles. This is a place where I hope families can connect with nature, nurture creativity and discover fun opportunities for joyful learning together. I’m a homeschooling mum, nature lover, avid researcher and graphic designer.
It all started with a giggle!
When my children were little, I loved the sound of their giggles. The kind that burst out when they discovered something new.
You know what I mean.
Often all it took was a curly-whirly leaf on a bushwalk, a squishy new art material, or an imaginative invention made from a pile of recyclables.
Those moments of wonder and the giggles became some of my most treasured memories. When my children were free to explore, wonder, experiment and discover, they naturally expressed their learning through creativity and play. They were connecting with nature, asking questions, experimenting, inventing, storytelling, making and playing. It was magic to watch.
I noticed that when they had these opportunities they were learning to think creatively, solved problems, made plans and became resourceful.
They were learning how to learn.
I could see, their confidence, resilience and independence grow, skills that will stay with them for the long run. It was a lovely way to learn as a family and I knew that I needed to provide my children with the time and space for these kinds of opportunities, alongside the regular ‘basics’ of homeschool. It hasn’t always been easy but after eight years of homeschooling, here we are, still learning together and our home is still buzzing with creative projects, including mine!
A little project of my own
Wonder and Giggles is my passion project. Over the last few years, whenever I’ve had a rare spare minute… I’d sit down with a cup of tea and a piece of chocolate (usually just one piece!) and spend time wondering, dreaming, designing and creating. And my kids were right there beside me, helping every step of the way.
That beautiful connection between wonder, curiosity, creativity and play is what inspired Wonder and Giggles. My hope is to encourage other families to slow down and create more opportunities to wonder, discover and create together, and perhaps share a few giggles too.

My Mission
To help children connect with nature, cultivate curiosity, nurture creativity and develop a lifelong love of learning through art, storytelling, imaginative play, creative thinking, making and nature-inspired STEAM exploration.

What I Believe
- Wonder comes before natural learning.
- Creativity is for every child. (and every adult too!)
- Imagination and play need time and space.
- Childhood should be cherished and protected.
- Nature is one of the greatest teachers.
- When children connect with nature, they learn to cherish it and care for it.
